Know about Types of Diabetes - Series 1

Ayurveda, the science of life classifies Diabetes as 20 types based the invlovement and symptoms of functional elements of the body viz vata, pitta and kapha.

Lets first review about kapha type of Diabetes and its symptoms

Unlike today, in olden days the Diabetes was diagnosed by physical symptoms and urine analysis.

Types of Diabetes

1. Udaha meha - Like water - Urine goes out like water, white in colour and cool in nature with out any bad smell. The patient feels as if he is passing the water which he has drunk earlier.

2. Ikshu Meha - Sugarcane juice Like - Urine goes out like sugarcane juice, thick, cool and sticky in nature.

3. Sandra meha - Thick. after passing urine a sediment stays in the area

4. Sandra prasda meha - Mixed with hard and soft sediments (If the urine stored in a vessel)

5. Shukla Meha - White in colour - The urine goes out like milk with frequent urination

6. Sukra Meha - Semon mixed urine, skicky and increased urination

7. sheeta Meha - Cool, ants crawls at the urinated area, Smells like sugar

8. Sikata Meha - Urine goes out with minute sand like particles

9. Snahaihi meha - Urine goes very slowly, passes only after pressure

10. Lala Meha - Urine passes out like thread, sticky saliva with very bad smell
